Hearing Impaired (HI)

A Bachelor of Special Education in Hearing Impairment is a specialize undergraduate program designed equip students with the skills, knowledge and competencies required to teach and support individuals with hearing impairment. This program focuses on educational strategies, communication techniques and the use of assistive technologies to enhance the learning experiences of CWHI.

            The primary purpose of the course is to promote inclusive education by preparing teachers who can effectively teach students with hearing impairment in both main stream and specialized settings.

            It aims to provide in depth of knowledge about the nature & causes of Hearing Impairment, Audiology, Speech Language Pathology and the developmental and educational needs of individuals with hearing impairment. The course emphasizes on the development of communication skills to facilitate better interaction with hearing impaired students in order to enhance their educational level to reach ultimately higher education.

Career opportunities: Graduates can pursue careers this Special Education course as their career became as Resource Teacher / Special Teacher and work in special schools or normal schools at SSA programmes consultant and training institutions both in Government as well as Private Schools

  • Duration: 4 years (3 years of coursework + 1 year of internship)

Eligibility:

  • Completion of BIPC or MPC streams
  • Minimum of 50% marks, for SC. ST 45%
  • Clear the Common Entrance Examination conducted by Osmania University
  • Duration: 4 years (3 years of coursework + 1 year of internship)

Career Prospects:

  • Start a private clinic after registration with RCI
  • Work as an Audiologist cum Speech Therapist in hospitals, clinics, and child guidance centres
  • Eligible for competitive exams like UPSC, Banks, State Public Service Exams etc.
  • Pursue Higher Education.
