Helen Keller’s Institute of Research & Rehabilitation for the Disabled Children is an unique institution established in the year 1985 with the aims of providing quality of education and rehabilitation facilities to the children with Speech & Hearing Impairment in both the states of  Andhra Pradesh & Telangana- India.

Initially the institute started its services by providing Special Education to Hearing & Speech Impaired (Deaf & Dumb) Children and gradually the services have been extended to Higher Education by offering University courses like, BASLP; M.Sc-Audiology; M.Sc-SLP; B.Ed –Special Education (HI) for normal hearing students & B.Com- Computers/General for Hearing Impaired students. The institute has also been working on Innovation & Research, to provide better skills & knowledge in the field of Special Education & Rehabilitation in the country.

By the span of 4 decades of its service the institute could trained and made thousands of young Qualified Professionals in the field of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology and Special Education, who are presently extending their services to Lakhs of people with Speech & Hearing Impairment across the country. Some of them are even working in other countries like, USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, SINGAPORE & Other GULF Countries.

Where as the institute has provided a platform of Higher Education during the Academic Year 2001 -2002 especially for the Hearing Impaired (Deaf & Hard of Hearing) Students and produced more than two thousand Graduates in Commerce, who are presently working in government & non-government sector at different levels including as Gazetted Officers position. This is all happened just because of a platform of Higher Education that was provided by Helen Keller’s Institute in both the States of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
