Helen Keller’s Institute has conducted several public awareness camps for preschoolers, school going children, adults and elderly at institute and in association with different schools, NGO like Lions club etc. During camps, the screening for speech language, speech sound disorders, fluency, voice cognitive linguistic disorders. After screening, necessary referrals were given and the public were counseled about the precautions to be taken. 26 camps were conducted during the period of May 2018 to Dec 2020.

Speech and Hearing Awareness Fortnight Celebrations 03-11 December 2020

On the occasion of Speech and Hearing Awareness Fortnight Celebrations in line with Indian Speech and Hearing Association, our institute had taken up several activities like camp, online consultation and creating public awareness through webinars, posters, videos (social media) and distribution of handouts. The webinars were conducted in association with Lions club of Hi tech city, Hyderabad. The program coordinator was Mrs Susan G Oommen.
The students of institute also participated in activities conducted by ISHA and II BASLP students secured second (Ms Dixita Patil) and third position (Ms Claudia and Mr Farhan) for Quiz.

Helen Keller’s Institute of Research & Rehabilitation for the disabled children”, is running Special School for the Hearing Impaired, Intermediate and Degree college for the hearing impaired, Manpower development program, which includes teacher training for those who aspire to become teachers of the deaf, Diploma program in Special Education, Degree and Master Degree program in the speech and hearing,under one roof.
