COURSE OVERVIEW

This specialised degree programme broadly focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a wide range of mental, psychological and emotional health-related problems.

This course aligns with the professional competencies required for future clinical psychologists in India. After four years, the student will get the Licensure under RCI Clinical Assistant (Clinical Psychology) with a separate category of CRR. These trained professionals may work for the government, private hospitals, and mental health facilities or practice privately.

Objectives:-

  • To educate on the core scientific knowledge along with practical training in Clinical Psychology for evaluating and addressing mental health concerns among varied populations.
  • To train students as Clinical Assistants (Clinical Psychology) who possess the ability to conduct screenings, basic counselling and psychoeducational interventions under supervision.
  • To mitigate mental healthcare gaps by producing graduates for entry-level work in the areas of early intervention, outreach and public mental health.
  • To develop ethical practice, legal awareness and cultural competencies as per the RCI guidelines around mental health policy and legislation.

Career Prospects:

               This an Allied Medical course with excellent career students who have completed this B.Sc. Cl. Psy. (Hons.) will be getting jobs in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and even they can start their own clinics, go for higher education like M.Sc Clinical Psychology, Hospital Management, M.B.A or any other post-graduation. They are eligible to write UPPSC, Group I, Bank PO’s, even they may go for teaching line, research assistant, M.S.W, work as Mental Health Counselor / Professionals.

Duration: 4 Years Course

Eligibility:- Passed Intermediate or its equivalent with science subjects or psychology as one of the elective subject at +2. With 50% marks, for SC & ST and Physically Challenged with 45% marks will be eligible to apply.

Selection:- Through OU common entrance test or on the basis of their merit marks in the qualifying exams (for courses).

 

Note: Last date to apply is 10th November 2025, mostly classes will be commenced from 15th November 2025.

  • Clear the Common Entrance Examination conducted by Osmania University

  • Start a private clinic after registration with RCI
  • Work as an Audiologist cum Speech Therapist in hospitals, clinics, and child guidance centres
  • Eligible for competitive exams like UPSC, Banks, State Public Service Exams etc.
  • Pursue Higher Education.
