About the B.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) Course

B.Ed. Special Education (HI) is a Regular Two Years Rehabilitation Professional course under recognition of Rehabilitation Council of India (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India) and affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Importance of the Course

The purpose behind the course in special education (Hearing Impairment) is to comply with the National Policies on Education and to ensure the need based education for all children with disability. A special educator can provide opportunity to right education to such students whether in a regular school or in special school. The availability of special educators in regular schools are not sufficient to meet the required number of educators to provide an opportunity for children with mild to moderate hearing impairment in normal schools in the country.

Course curriculum

Some common topics covered during the courses are: Educational psychology Education in India, Introduction to various disabilities, Assessing children with disabilities, Intervention and teaching strategies, Education planning and Evaluation strategies etc.

Objectives of the Course

The basic aim of this course is to develop special educators for the students with Hearing Impairment in the country. After undergoing this B.Ed. Special Education course the special educator is expected to acquaint with knowledge and skills about:-

Job Prospects

After undergoing this B.Ed Special Education (Hearing Impairment) course one can get employment in both regular schools as well as special schools.
One can also pursue further education like M.Ed Special Education (HI); M.Ed. (Gen.); M.Ed. (MD); M.A. (Education) & M.Sc. (Psy.) etc.
This course is eligible for normal DSC. throughout the country and eligible for Government and non-govt. jobs. The qualified educator can also start a special school by establishing NGO.
